- Gare du Nord means Northern Station and is the main train station in Paris. From this station high-speed trains arrive and departs to London, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
- The Thalys train high-speed trains to Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. Train tickets can be purchased online.
- Eurostar trains high-speed trains to London, Avignon and the Alps.
- trains to/from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Charles de Gaulle Airport is the main airport in Paris. It takes 30 minutes by train from Gare du Nord.
- Trains to North France to Lille, Calais, Amiens, Lens
- metro: Line 4 and 5 stops in Gare du Nord. Follow the 'M' sign down the escalator for the metro.
It also has connections to the Paris metro network, to the airports, bus services and car hire facilities.
The taxi rank is on the ground floor of the station.
Example of the cheapest discount ticket: Paris Gare du Nord - Amsterdam is 35€ (second class ticket in July/August 2010, one way).
Tickets are sold at the ticket windows or vending machine(in french, creditcard required or with coins)
A single ticket (in 2010) is €1.60. A carnet is 10 tickets; price is €11.60.
With line 4 you can go to Les Halles (large shopping center) and Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame, Conciergerie).
Line 5 comes along Boulevard Haussmann with its large department stores.
