The most famous monuments and attractions in the Montmartre:
- Sacré-Coeur basilica: A church on top of a hill of 130 meters high. Its name comes from "Mont des Martyrs".
It's open from 6am - 10.30pm and has spectacular views over Paris
- Moulin Rouge (cabaret theatre + lunch/diner)
- Place du Tertre (square with artists and painters - self portraits -)
- The nearest metro stations are Anvers(line 2) or Abbesses and Pigalle(both line 12).
- Two popular hotels in the Montmartre District are: Atlanta Frochot Hotel*** and the Place Clichy Hotel**
Both hotels are close to the Moulin Rouge and not far from the main department stores, Gare Du Nord and the Opera.
In the Montmartre are many restaurants, bars, cafe's, nightclubs and theatres.
