From the Eiffel Tower you can make a pleasant and short walk to the other side of the Seine.
The bridge over the Seine river is "Pont d'Iena" and is a few hundred meter long.
The garden with the large metal fountains below Palais de Chaillot is called "Jardin de Trocadero" (picture on the right).

Palais de Chaillot was built in 1937 as one of the highlights of the 1937 French last colonial exhibition.
Inside Palais de Chaillot are nowadays several museums.
However the main reason why so many visitors come to here is that the palais gives excellent views to the Eiffel Tower.

Just behind the Palais de Chaillot is the metro station Trocadero.
From here it is just three stops to the Arc de Triomphe & Champs Elysees.
